Silverball Tactics - Pocket

And now on to something completely different.

In January 2020, Panic had a call for submissions of concept art for things to run on their PlayDate device. After seeing my submission on the real device I was enamoured with the whole idea and developed a concept to bring my holographic book, Silverball Tactics to this form and style factor.

It's certainly an experience to draw everything by hand, frame-by-frame in glorious 1-bit fidelity. It was just so cool when the PlayDate team recorded my intro animation for me, running on an actual device. I grew up with a GameBoy, so seeing it like this was extra special to me.

The music is the opening from "Call Me" by Lebrock. It fits so well even though I only discovered them half a year after making the original animation.
